Oh poor, dear Terri. It’s wrong to come here and mess around with the natural order of things.
I was distraught to find out she knew about my affair with her mother. And after what happened to Annie, here in Spooksville, well, I can only assume she had me down as a prime suspect for that. She was so like her mother, I was quite taken aback when she first arrived. I knew immediately who she was, so I… encouraged her to leave before she found out anything. But she didn’t listen. And, like her mother, she wound up dead. It’s tragic.
Did I do it? I did not. I believe in keeping things civil, and keeping things consistent. I was having my weekly family meal at the time she died. It’s my one and only moment of peace from all the politics in this town.
It’s not easy trying to fit in here. It’s even harder when you know that if you out a foot out of line, you end up beaten half to death. God forbid anyone tries to leave the town.
We know what happened to Annie. I knew it was only a matter of time before the same happened to Terri. So i tried my best to tell her to get out. She was too stubborn. If I thought I could have, I would have stopped it. But these people, they’re clever. And evil. They used the noise of the Halloween festivities to cover all sorts of wrongdoing. They sent those fellas round to beat me up. And at the same time, someone went to Terri and she suffered an even worse fate. I feel terrible, but I was literally being biffed and bashed, and couldn’t do anything to stop it.
Maybe now’s my chance to leave. If you don’t hear from me again, you’ll know where to look.
That poor girl. It’s such a shame it had to come to this. I warned her that maybe her time was up, and she should leave. She just didn’t listen. Now I’m sure there are reasons for me to be guilty of her murder, she had her mother’s knack for finding out things. I guess snooping runs in the family. As does taking things too far.
She knew very well about my little habit of finding out what people were up to on the library computers. And indeed for using that information to blackmail some of them. But this is a nice town, people pay up, or they get a visit from my friends Mr Biff and Mr Bash.
As it turns out, I didn’t need to get my hands dirty when it came to Miss Fyde, or her mother. I would have asked someone else to do it. I even encouraged someone else to. But I made sure I was on the library computers at the time she was killed. I am innocent. In a literal sense.
The people in this town are pathetic. Miss Webb and her sordid little blackmails. Mr Blood and his disgusting affairs. Even sad Mr Sweeney, gambling addict and general loser.
They all knew that Terri would find this out. And about her poor mother. Back then, everyone had a reason to kill Annie. Including me, yes, she found what I was hiding in the kitchen at the parlour. But I was the one who had to do the dirty work, and get rid of the Boddie. Now, all these years later, history is repeating itself, and has anyone got the guts to get rid of the daughter? No. If you want something done, Ivana Scream do it.
I was at the meeting where we told Todd about his visit, so while people were distracted by that, and with all the Halloween things going on outside, I went to Terri’s room. One shot didn’t even register amongst all that. It’s a lot easier to kill someone when you’ve done it before.
I killed Annie Boddie, and I killed her daughter, Terri Fyde.
