Christmas Eve is the most stressful time! And my great idea to buy everything early and neatly wrap each one in a box would have looked brilliant on my social media feed. If all the labels hadn’t suddenly come off!
I mean it’s one thing to have a nice story for people to see, but I can’t have my kids opening the wrong presents and getting upset. So I did what any mum would do. I opened them. All of them.
And I was planning to re-wrap them all. After I’d had a lie down. But then I woke up on Christmas Day… and we all know what happened next.
I never know what’s in the presents! I was so tempted to rip them all open and just re-wrap them, with all the right labels, but I promise I didn’t. You’ll have seen when I was chatting on a video call to my own mum that even that one present took me nearly an hour. I didn’t fancy being up all night. Plus, the 45 minutes it did take me just proves I was busy when the presents were being unwrapped.
Not me, sorry. Oh, and Merry Christmas!
Harry is always getting me into trouble. He says those labels just ‘fell off’ but I know he took one off by mistake and just kept going. So I helped him out and put them back in the living room. And I saw all the presents just sitting there and thought I could finally check and see if I got the present I wanted.
But I had no idea which present to look in! So I decided to wait until Christmas morning. Mum and Dad would have been so upset, and I couldn’t ruin Christmas.
All the labels came off, completely by accident! I was so scared Mum would be angry about it, so I asked Abbie for help. She said she would take them back for me.
And I’m happy that she did that for me, because I went back to watching my favourite cartoon on Dad’s tablet. He came in later and told me to go to sleep. But I’m pretty sure all the presents were open by then (I was up super late!), so it wasn’t me who did it!
